Argument in favor of CCW

Thomas Jefferson once said that “The purpose of education is to make the People the Safeguardians of their own Liberty; and to do this-their minds must be improved to that degree.”

Tragicaly however, the only message that Liberal politicians keep sending in the horryifying wake of shootings on our public school campuses and community streets is that-if we can’t legally disarm you altogether; then we will break your Freedom loving spirit into a passive state of total dependence upon government to keep you and your loved ones safe from all harm at any time.

This socialist idea of a utopian society is expressed constantly through the media, through government, through education, and even through religion. Liberals believe that mankind is basically good and that all of  society’s problems can be solved through a bigger-more government controlled environment.

Of course such a goal is impossible to accomplish without the People having first relinquished all of their resources to be governed by a Police State. And just how will Liberal socialist’s achieve the monumental task of CONTROLLING ALL of our Nation’s Natural and manufactured resources?

By covertly pushing their agenda to disarm every law-abiding citizen of “the Right to keep and bear arms-for the necessary protection of oneself and a free State.” They do this in the name of “helping to stop crime.” Particularly here in California where socialist policies regulate how, when, and where an individual is allowed to exercise their Constitutional 2nd Amendment Right “TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS” within the narrowest limits possible.

Guy Smith’s Gun Facts Version 3.0, a Copyright in 2001 released this statement by the FBI Uniform Crime Reports of 1992: “Violent crime rates are highest overall in states with laws severely limiting or prohibiting the carry of concealed firearms for self defense.”

But regardless of the evidence in several States, where “right-to-carry” concealed handgun laws time and time again have demonstrated a definite decrease in violent crime over the years-here in California, the anti-gun rights prejudice of local officials like Los Angeles County Sheriff Baca, Los Angeles City Police Chief Bratton, Mayor Villaraigosa and the City Council-never cease to be more dominant.

They all deny any Los Angeles resident-other than the wealthy, or members within the Law Enforcement community, the right to carry a concealed handgun in accordance with CA. Penal Code 12050, which states: “A license to carry a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person may be granted to qualified residents of a county by the sheriff, or to qualified residents of a city by the chief, or other head of the municipal police department of that city…

Such licenses are issued only after a finding that the applicant is (1) of good moral character, (2) that good cause exists for such a license, (3) and the applicant is not prohibited from possessing firearms… It further states that such a license may be valid for any amount of time not to exceed two years from the date issued, unless issued to a judge, or magistrate (valid for up to three years) or specified custodial employees or reserve peace officers (valid for up to four years).”

The problem with the State code is that it ambiguously grants to much discretionary power to the Sheriff and the police Chief, who have both demonstrated their bias against responsible law abiding citizens who wish to possess a Permit-To-Carry on their person one handgun for personal protection.

But “We the People” who’s patriotic fires have not yet been extinguished by “Nanny State,” anti-Self Defense Rights policies, must continue the fight to keep this debate alive before the general public.

I say Self Defense Rights, because the Right of the People to keep and bear arms for self defense-has existed long before organized militias, law enforcement officials, the authors of our Constitution-or even guns for that matter, came on the scene.

CICERO the Greek philosopher once said over 2000 years ago: “If our lives are endangered by plots or violence or armed robbers or enemies, any and every method of protect ourselves is morally right.”

WILLIAM BLACKSTONE, in his (1765) Commentaries on “The Laws of Nature,” which up until the 19th century-held the standard for American Lawmakers, Judges and Attorneys, reiterated that: “The citizen’s Right to have arms for their defense is the Natural Right of resistance and self preservation; for when the sanctions of society and laws are found insufficient to restrain the violence of oppression.”

In recent months I’ve come to the realization that in today’s politically correct society, the Liberal crime control policies of our local public officials will never offer the hope of issuing permits to common law abiding citizens-to carry handguns for their protection.

Instead they would rather lull “the people” into some fallacious idea that they actually care about “the People’s” safety, by initiating “gun free zones” and “gun storage laws.”

That such are the answers to controlling crime, when in reality, such actions have been proven to be neither gun free, nor safe; but have placed law-abiding citizens in greater jeopardy.

And now, the solutions I propose are neither new nor untested; they just need to be implemented consistently by the People of California who are willing to take back their communities. Every able bodied citizen must be prepared to act as an emergency defender against attacks aimed at harming themselves and other innocent citizens.

Instead of adopting more Government Gun Control regulations, “We The  People,” must first, practice hand control-gun safety and disarming tactics in both outdoor and indoor shooting ranges.

Studies show in 44-States that honor “Shall Issue” laws, for responsible citizens who know how to make provisions for their training and discipline, fair a better chance of surviving aggravated assaults.

Finally, we need to support the promotion of our own “shall issue” initiative to put on the ballot, while simultaneously educating voters about how to safely exercise their entitled Right to Self Defense by “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.”
